Every Halloween, after spending a million hours figuring out what costume I want to wear, then I have to deal with trying to buy it without spending a million bucks.
Especially when you plan last minute (like I usually do), prices of costumes seriously add up quickly. To help you out so you aren’t spending all of your money on a costume for one night, I’ve got a bunch of easy and cheap Halloween costumes for college! You (and your bank account) are going to absolutely love these ideas.

Bratz doll
This is such a cute costume to do with a friend! If you have more than two people, you can each just be a different color.
For this costume, you can either buy a shirt with the Bratz logo or if you are on a time crunch, just iron or safety pin the logo on the shirt. Then, just wear the matching color bottom.
Superhero
Superheros are such easy costumes and are great for groups. You can each choose your favorite superhero and dress accordingly. For this, you can honestly just wear whatever color matches the superhero to save some money. Just make sure you have the superhero logo somewhere on your outfit so people know what you are!
Alien
An alien is a great costume if you don’t want to spend too much money. All you need is something shiny or metallic looking for either your top or bottom. Then just put some glitter on your face and you are good to go!
Biker
If you really don’t want to spend any money, dress as a biker for Halloween. All you need to do is wear all black and either buy or borrow a red bandana for around your neck.
This costume couldn’t be any easier, plus, you will be super comfortable the whole night.
Devil
On a similar note, you can also go as the devil for Halloween if you want to wear all black. For this one, you will need to buy either devil ears or wings so people know what you are dressed as.
Flower
I am loving the flower costumes and hope I see a bunch more this Halloween season. You can do this as a pair or with a group. This is such a beautiful costume and you don’t need to buy too much.
Once you pick you flower, just wear the corresponding color and then buy some of those flowers to make a flower crown.
You can do roses and sunflowers like the picture, or lavenders (purple), daisies (white), or whatever flower you love!
Girl scout
Dressing as a girl scout is super easy for Halloween. Wear whatever white shirt you have with a green bottom. If you don’t have a green skirt, any darker color will do.
Then, just buy a girl scout sash and you’ve got yourself a costume.
Frat boys
You could not get any easier (or comfier) than dressing as a frat boy for Halloween. Literally just put on some shorts and a button down and you are good.
If you want to go further, you can also add some sunglasses or a backward baseball cap to complete the look.
Boxer
A boxer is another super comfy Halloween costume. You’ll need to buy the pink robe, but otherwise, you should have everything else. All you need is a black sports bra and some black shorts.
Hippies
Dressing as hippies for Halloween is great because you have a lot of freedom depending on what clothes you already have. You can either wear a tie-dye shirt and solid bottoms or a solid shirt and tie-dye/patterned pants.
For this one, just wear what you have and then buy some accessories if you want.
Football player
This costume could not get any easier. All you need to do is wear a football jersey and some black shorts and you are done. If you want to get even fancier, you can use black face paint to draw some lines under your eyes.
If you don’t have a football jersey, try finding a friend to borrow one from.
Alvin and the chipmunks
For a group of three, Alvin and the Chipmunks is a great easy costume. All you need are the three colored t-shirts. Then, you can use tape or fabric markers to draw on the letters.
Pair the shirt with some black shorts and you are good.
M&M
For a group of any size, you can dress as M&Ms. Everyone just has to pick a color and wear a matching shirt. Then, just use safety pins to attach a big “M” and you are done.
This one looks great when everyone is wearing shirts in different cuts and colors, all with the logo on it.
