There is genuinely nothing worse than sitting down to do some productive studying and then realizing you don’t have your planner or AirPods or whatever else. I cannot tell you the number of times I walked all the way back to my dorm just to grab my AirPods because I can’t study without music.

I could not survive a single day in college without a planner.
Even if you think you can’t use one, I promise, you just need to find the right one!

I feel like it goes without saying that I’m a post-it note person.

With all these school supplies, you will need somewhere to put it all.
This is my absolute favorite pencil case because of how slim it is. It fits in any bag and will hold all of the supplies you need to carry around with you.
I’ve been using the same one for years, and it is still in great quality.
headphones
It feels like I’m saying this about everything on this list, but this is the one thing I genuinely always have on me at all times.
A good pair of headphones is absolutely essential for a good study session. I love using a pair of AirPods Pro. They have a good enough noise-cancelling feature and a good battery.
There are also a million other wireless headphone options if you are looking for something else!
backpack
A quality backpack is really important in college. Especially for the long days when you don’t have time to go back to your dorm or apartment the entire day, having a big one that fits everything is super helpful.
I LOVE this backpack because of all the pockets. It seriously has a spot for everything, so you are able to stay super organized.
iPad and Apple Pencil
If you have the budget for it, it is super helpful to have an Apple Pencil and iPad while at college.
This is my favorite thing to use when I am taking notes or making lists. I use Goodnotes on my iPad and am able to keep everything really organized on there.
folders
I always like having a couple of folders on hand at college. With most of my notes electronic, it’s helpful to carry a folder around in case I get any handouts.
This is especially important at the beginning of the semester because a lot of professors will give you a printed copy of the syllabus.
calculator
Whether or not you need a calculator at college will depend on the type of classes you take. However, make sure to get whatever kind you need for your classes!
journal
A simple lined journal like this is always good to have on hand. I feel like I have a million different journals for a million different things in college.
These are great for writing in each night, making to-do lists, or having a spot to do a brain dump.
notebooks
If you don’t have an iPad or need to take hand-written notes for your classes, having a couple of these notebooks is definitely necessary.
I love these because they come in a bunch of different colors and will match your folders. This makes color coding a lot easier.
snacks
Of all the study items for students, one of the most important might be some snacks. Even just keeping a granola bar on you at all times is going to be life-saving.
There is nothing worse than trying to study and only being able to think about how hungry you are.
water bottle
Like my AirPods, the other thing I always have with me is my emotional support water bottle lol.
I love using a Hydroflask with a straw lid, but you can use whatever reusable bottle you already have! This is super helpful around a college campus.
stickers
This one is definitely not the most important of the study items for students on this list, but it’s a fun one!
I love decorating my laptop case or water bottle with cute stickers. A lot of clubs and other organizations on campus will give out free stickers. You can also buy really cute ones on Etsy for whatever are your favorite things.
This is such a fun little addition to something you use every single day in college.
